Summary of works: Soundproofing, IKEA hack wardrobes, ornate plasterwork.
Soundproofing was installed in the bedroom alcoves, and IKEA hack wardrobes installed. This involves using IKEA Pax units with Komplement internals, modified slightly to allow for permanent installation on a fixed base. Bespoke doors, panelling, scribes, plinth & pelmet complete the bespoke appearance. The original cornice was copied by a specialist contractor, and wrapped around the new pelmets.
There is a bit of modification work to make an IKEA hack work, but it does save a lot of money compared to a fully-bespoke wardrobe (which we also do).
